Halladay Memorial Scholarship

Halladay Memorial Student Award

The purpose of the Halladay Memorial Student Award is to recognize an Alberta-based student enrolled in any undergraduate program related to recreation and parks, who has contributed to recreation and/or parks services through volunteer activities, work experience, studies and involvement in ARPA. The Halladay Memorial Student Award, with a value of a $1,000 scholarship is given in memory of Jacqueline Diane Halladay, 1951-1981, to honour "one who gave so much". Awarded once per student.

Selection criteria - The student must be registered full-time in any year of a post-secondary program related to recreation or parks.

Main components of the application:
  • Basis of the application (ex. academic achievements, contributions to recreation or parks in Alberta)
  • List relevant work & volunteer experiences
  • Completed courses, workshops, or conferences
  • Outline of academic goals
  • Description of personal definition of the Benefits or Recreation and Parks
  • 2 letters or e-mails of reference: One academic, one professional or personal.
Deadline to nominate is May 31st.
