I’m an extremely left-brained individual who thinks in terms of processes, step-by-step actions, and use logic behind all of my decisions
Although I’m a logical person who likes to dive into the details, I also find that I enjoy time to think freely and use my creativity to come up with new ideas
Although I’m creative, I also find that having some structure in my day or in my work helps me to achieve the most that I possibly can
Consider me the right-brained free thinker who is creative and prefers not to be constrained by processes

7. Your company has a process established and in use regularly that solicits system improvement feedback from your team members, your executive team regularly reviews the feedback, and process trials are set-up to evaluate suggested improvements *This question is required

8. To what extent would you say that your business relies upon systems / processes to function on a daily basis?

Our business really doesn’t rely upon processes, systems, or any detailed work instructions at this time
We’ve developed business processes in the past but nobody really uses or follows them on a daily basis
Some of our business activities are guided by defined processes and other areas are not
Almost everything that we do within the business has a defined process associated with it

9. Does your business have an process improvement system where team members can submit ideas on how to improve your internal business systems / processes?

We train our team members on their roles and expect them to perform their duties according to what we tell them
We don’t formally request improvement ideas from our team members but we do consider them if any suggestions are made
We do ask our team members for improvement ideas on our business systems and take the feedback into account when evaluating changes to how our business operates
We have a formal process improvement system in place that continuously gathers feedback from team members that is reviewed by the management team on a regular basis

10. What best describes the level of performance measurement within your business or organization?

We really do not measure anything on a consistent basis and instead only worry about the amount of money that we make at the end of the month
We track our business performance mainly using metrics that focus primarily on revenue and profitability
Almost everything that we do is measured; it seems as if we have metrics for everything we do within the business
Everything we do is related to assuring that our customers and team members are happy and satisfied and we have a single metric in place to measure, monitor, and improve that metric

11. When you consider changes to how your company operates, do you tend to lean toward a democratic approach (you solicit and utilize input from your team and/or peers) or a dictatorial approach (you make the decisions alone or with only minimal input from your peers)?

I typically make decisions alone with little to no input from others
If someone provides input on a particular item I will consider it in my decision-making process
I routinely ask other people for their input and advice regarding changes to the business and then incorporate that feedback when making decisions
Even though I make the final decisions, we’ve formed teams or communities to solicit feedback on a regular basis from our team members and customers

12. Who in your organization is ultimately responsible for the processes that your business uses to conduct day-to-day business?

We really don’t have any processes in place and for any that have been developed there really isn’t a single person responsible for them
I am responsible for everything that goes on within the business and therefore the business processes are my personal responsibility
Responsibility of the processes is delegated to our individual managers that oversee a particular process
Our team members own and are responsible for the processes but it is our executive team that is ultimately responsible for process performance
