About the Conference



2016 Pave the Way Conference: Advancing Equity, Access, Readiness & Support 

Thank you for your interest in presenting at our conference! We encourage proposals for interactive presentations that facilitate audience participation and engage attendees in content that highlight policies, best practices, and programs designed to address the achievement/opportunity gap and promote educational attainment for underserved students throughout the P-20 educational system. 

IMPORTANT:

All breakout sessions are limited to 75 mins in length.

The deadline to submit your proposal is August 31, 2016. Notifications of acceptance will be sent no later than September 16, 2016. Those who are selected will be provided a promotional code for a discounted conference rate of $150. Please DO NOT register for the conference until you have heard back from our office regarding your session proposal. At any point, you may save and continue progress at a later time. 

Conference Objectives: 
 
  1. Share effective policies and strategies for educational success among the state’s most disenfranchised and underrepresented student populations.
  2. Mobilize, inspire, and engage P-20 educational partners in Washington through meaningful professional development.
  3. Foster cross-sector collaboration among P-20 educational partners to increase progress toward the state’s educational attainment goals.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to the following:
 
  • College and career readiness
  • Retention and completion supports at the postsecondary level
  • Equity, diversity and inclusion at schools, and college campuses
  • Early postsecondary awareness
  • High school completion
  • Student transitions
  • Cross-sector collaboration and collective impact
  • Community and business engagement
  • Financial literacy and affordability
