Interest Form: Op-Ed Project Scholarships for Inter Contributors

Inter, The Op-Ed Project, and You

Thanks for your interest in IFYC's new storytelling platform, Inter.

In an effort to position emerging interfaith voices as powerful storytellers and thought leaders, Interfaith Youth Core is covering the cost of 10 undergraduate students, recent alumni, and young professionals who want to benefit from The Op-Ed Project's one-day "Write to Change the World" seminar:

This highly interactive day-long seminar will challenge you to think more carefully and more expansively about your knowledge and experience, and why it matters. We will explore the source of credibility; the patterns and elements of powerful evidence-based argument; the difference between being “right” and being effective; how to preach beyond the choir; and how think bigger—so that we can have greater influence and value in the world.  You will emerge with a powerful argument for an idea or cause you believe in, and a network of high-level mentors.

If you are selected:
          - IFYC will cover the cost of your travel, meals, and registration for the seminar in the city nearest you.
          - You will be added to an online cohort that includes the 10 other Inter writers/participants so you can workshop ideas and build your network of media-makers. You will also have access to The Op-Ed Project's mentor-editor network for a year after you finish the seminar.
          - You will be expected to pitch us a piece that fits Inter's themes. Your deadline to pitch will be three weeks after you complete the seminar.
          - If IFYC does not publish your piece, we will do our best to give you useful, constructive editorial feedback and, assuming it's in good shape, help you pitch it to other outlets that may be appropriate.

If you'd like to be considered for one of the 10 competitive slots, please complete this form.

If you'd like to go ahead and pitch a story now, please complete this pitch form.
