Are you Emergency Ready?

Are you in the know?

Do you know what to do in an emergency like a bushfire or major storm?  Do you know where to find emergency information?  Do you know where to find out information about the hazards in your area?

Knowing where to find information and that there is a need to be prepared is the first step to being emergency ready!
1. Do you know the hazards or risks that could affect you and your household, such as having powerlines near trees, living in a cul-de-sac, near a bushland reserve or creek? etc *This question is required.

ARE YOU AT RISK?

Due to our topography, vegetation types, and history of fire events Shire of Mundaring is regarded as a High Fire Risk area. Risks are increased if:

• your property is uphill of a bush area

• your property is close to bush or unmanaged grassland

• you have no Bush Fire Survival Plan and you have not established a good Building Protection Zone or reduced fuel loads around your home

• you have limited access to exit routes in the event of a fire.

 
2. Do you know the disasters (natural or man-made) that could affect your area, such as floods, storms, bushfires, chemical spills etc. *This question is required.
