Transnational Municipal Network Practitioner's Survey

Thank you for participating in the University of Amsterdam- Transnational Municipal Network (TMN) Practitioners Survey!

Much of the current research on transnational municipal networks (TMNs) examines them from an external perspective as global environmental governance institutions. The critical voice of municipal representatives has, however, largely been absent in this research. In response, this survey seeks to provide new insights on how municipal decision-making processes are changing in response to TMNs interventions on climate change. The main question guiding this research is: How are city planning and policy-making processes changing as a result of engagement with TMNs on climate change? How do such engagements produce more climate resilient outcomes in cities?

This survey is divided into three main sections: (1) motivations for joining TMNs, (2) institutional and governance impacts, and (3) policy implications. Though we hope that you will complete the entire survey, you are free to skip questions you prefer not to answer. To ensure your confidentiality, no names or identifying information will be released, and every necessary precaution to ensure your anonymity will be taken.

If you have questions in the meantime, you can contact us at TMNpractitionersurvey@gmail.com. Thank you very much for you time and participation in the TMN practitioners survey!
