Food Issues Census 2

Hello!

Welcome to our survey.

Thank you for helping us to understand the activities, priorities and funding needs of organisations working for better food and farming. The Food Ethics Council has been commissioned to conduct this survey by some of the most active grant-makers supporting work on food issues. We know that such work is important and we want to help grow the funding available for it.

This survey will give a snapshot of what organisations like yours are already doing to address food issues. We believe that a better understanding of current activity will help us and others to make the case for funding work in this sector, and to make more effective decisions about priorities.

Your response will contribute to this and help raise the profile of organisations like your own among grant-making foundations. The analysis of the survey results will be available to you as a report and as simple web tool, where you will be able to extract more detailed information to support your own decision-making or funding proposals. While the results will be anonymous, every organisation completing the survey will be gratefully acknowledged on the website and in the report that we send to grant-makers.

Not sure whether this survey applies to you? If your organisation does any not-for-profit or public interest work relating to food – from local food-growing projects to campaigning against hunger – please take part. The survey covers organisations based in the UK or in receipt of UK charitable funding. Check our FAQs section for more details on the next page.

Please note that this is a survey of organisations – for example charities, institutes, social enterprises, faith groups and one-off initiatives – rather than individuals or projects within larger organisations. We can only accept one response from each organisation, so you may want to discuss with colleagues who is best placed to fill in the survey.

The survey takes on average 20 minutes. You will need: your most recent annual or management accounts, financial accounts, and a good understanding of staffing and activities across your organisation’s work on food.

Note that you can exit the survey at any time by clicking the ‘save and continue’ button at the top of each page. To resume where you left off, follow the link that will be sent to you by email (if this doesn’t come straight through, please check your junk folder).

Questions or comments as you complete the survey? Please email or phone me (dan@foodethicscouncil.org;  +44 (0)333 012 4147).

Thank you for your time.
