Humor and Gender survey

Dear participant,

The following survey is part of a study that I am currently conducting as a graduate student in clinical psychology at the Wright Institute, Berkeley, California, regarding the nature of humor and its relation to gender role and attitudes. Your participation would assist in the completion of this study. Participation involves completing the following survey by responding to a series of statements related to your relationship with humor and gender. Completion of the survey should take no more than twenty minutes. Once completed, your survey will be submitted anonymously. In considering participation please consider the following:


1. Participation involves minimal risk to you beyond the the possibility of mild discomfort in considering and responding to the topic, questions and/or materials.

2. Participation results in no direct benefits to you beyond what might be gained by the experience of participating in a research study, and contributing to a better understanding of the topic.

3. Confidentiality will be protected to the full extent of the law. No identifying information is required to participate in this study. The survey is anonymous. No one, including the researcher, will be able to identify who participated or refused to participate, or the responses of any individual.

5. Your participation is completely voluntary. Refusal to participate involves no penalty or loss of benefits and you may discontinue participation at any time without penalty or loss of benefits to which you are otherwise entitled.

7. Three participants who complete this survey will be randomly selected and awarded a $20 Amazon gift card.
