2016-17 Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) Ambassadors Application

Application Overview

Thank you for your interest in serving as a Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) Student Ambassador! Sponsored by CFPB in conjunction with the Partnership for Public Service, the Student Ambassadors program works to inspire college students around the country to pursue federal opportunities at CFPB and make a difference through public service.

Before beginning this application, please make sure you understand the responsibilities and expectations of a CFPB Student Ambassador, as well as the benefits and compensation you can expect to receive as an ambassador. Ambassadors will be expected to work at approximately five hours per week conducting office hours, leading meetings with faculty and students, giving presentations and developing marketing materials, among other responsibilities. To be eligible to serve as a CFPB ambassador, you must be:

  • Enrolled as a student in an accredited degree granting college or university in the United States for the 2016-17 academic year.
  • Able to participate in ambassador program for entire 2016-17 academic year. (Note: You may not study abroad at any point during your tenure as an ambassador)

Applicants should exhibit:

  • Demonstrated commitment to public service
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Involvement and leadership in extracurricular activities
  • The ability to manage and prioritize multiple and varied assignments
  • Flexibility to work at least 5 hours per week
Ambassadors will receive a stipend of $2,000 ($1,000 per semester) for their work during the academic year.
