2016 Future Agriscience Teacher Symposium - NAAE Convention Track 
Program Overview
The Future Agriscience Teacher (FAST) Symposium is a professional development opportunity for preservice agricultural education majors held in conjunction with the National Association of Agricultural Educators annual convention.  The FAST Symposium - NAAE Convention Track will include opportunities for attendees to engage in customized professional development, networking and mentoring with current agriculture teachers from across the country.  Only 18 applicants will be selected to attend the FAST Symposium -NAAE Convention Track in Las Vegas, NV.  Selected applicants will receive...

$250 Travel Stipend (you are encouraged to seek additional travel support from your university, state agricultural educators association, FFA alumni and others) 
Five nights lodging at the Westgate Hotel, Las Vegas (double occupancy)

Program Eligibility
1. To be eligible to apply for this program, each applicant must be:
  1. an agricultural education major that will be completing his or her student teaching in spring 2017 or Fall 2017 in a college or university that offers a program of study in agricultural education-teacher certification track;
  2. majoring in agricultural education with intentions to become an agriculture teacher;
  3. a student member of NAAE - you are responsible for making sure NAAE has your membership on file prior to applying.  
  4. and be able to arrive in Las Vegas by 9am Tuesday, November 29th and stay through 10am Saturday, December 3rd.  
Program Application Procedure
Each interested preservice teacher must complete an application online by Sunday, October 2nd at 11:59pm Eastern Time. 
 
The applications will be evaluated by the National Teach Ag Campaign. Those applicants selected to participate in this program will be notified by October 14th.  The FAST Symposium - NAAE Convention Track will begin Tuesday, November 29th at 9am and end Saturday, December 3rd at 10am. A more detailed schedule will be provided to selected participants.  Each participant will receive instructional materials and other teaching materials as part of the program.

The Future Agriscience Teacher (FAST) Symposium - NAAE Track is part of the National Teach Ag Campaign, an initiative of the National Council for Agricultural Education, managed by the National Association of Agricultural Educators with funding support from the CHS Foundation, DuPont Pioneer and Growth Energy as a special project of the National FFA Foundation.
