RainReady Oak Park Application


RainReady Oak Park offers grants up to $1,300

RainReady Oak Park helps residents better manage rain on their property through landscaping. Homeowners receive a free assessment of their property, recommended landscaping improvements, and a grant from the Village of Oak Park. Grants are 50% of the cost of eligible work, up to $1,300.

ELIGIBLE LANDSCAPING: Eligible work includes rain gardens, bioswales, cisterns, dry wells, and permeable pavement. Please note - French drains, tree removal, general regrading and new impermeable surfaces (e.g., concrete pavers) are not eligible.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: The annual deadline for applying to the program is April 1st. Applications received after April 1st will be waitlisted for the next program year. There are a limited number of grants for the program. Any eligible applicants not selected this year are placed on a waiting list for future assistance. The program is funded by the Village of Oak Park and administered by RainReady, an initiative of the non-profit Center for Neighborhood Technology.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE? To be eligible for the program, you need to:
1) Be an Oak Park resident
2) Own and live in a single-family home with a yard and disconnected downspouts (or can be disconnected)
3) Have no outstanding Village obligations or building code violations
4) Be able to maintain the landscaping improvements for at least three years
5) Be willing to participate in short evaluation surveys. This information will be kept confidential and used improve the program.
