The Center for Primary Care Innovation Faculty Research Catalyzer

Welcome

Overview: The Center for Primary Care Innovation is pleased to offer support to Feinberg School of Medicine Faculty, Residents, and Fellows for research in primary care, in areas of internal medicine, pediatrics and family medicine. The Primary Care Faculty Research Catalyzer is funded by the Feinberg School of Medicine’s Global Health Initiative, which was founded by and is generously supported by Northwestern Medicine Primary & Specialty Care, its patients, and Feinberg’s donors.

Eligibility: The purpose of this peer reviewed grant is to provide research support to Northwestern faculty or residents and fellows with a designated faculty mentor who are a) collecting preliminary data to support a future grant submission and/or b) supplemental support for ongoing sponsored-research for work outside the aims and/or scope of work of the funded project. The fund is not meant to support the same aims of an existing study.  Applicants are encouraged to cite a specific RFA from NIH (or other sponsor) to which the catalyzer funds would build the case for a future grant submission.

Requirements: Faculty must have a full-time appointment at Northwestern University and have an active clinical, research or educational role within Northwestern Medicine and/or the Feinberg School of Medicine. Residents or fellows must work with an eligible faculty mentor. Priority will be given to projects that have a significant component of the study based in a low or middle-income urban, rural or international site. As mentorship is one of the goals of the Center for Primary Care Innovation, preference will be given to applications which include mentorship for medical students, residents, fellows, or early career faculty.
