New England Seafood Preference Survey


You are invited to participate in a research project being conducted by Dr. Jenny Sun, Adjunct Associate Research Professor at University of Maine in the School of Marine Science and Senior Marine Resource Economist at Gulf of Maine Research Institute (GMRI) in Portland, Maine. The purpose of the research is to understand the seafood preferences of people living in New England. You must be at least 18 years old to participate.

 What Will You Be Asked to Do?
If you decide to participate, you will be asked to take an anonymous survey. Answering these questions may take 5 minutes of your time.
 
Risks
Time and inconvenience is the only risk to participants.
 
Benefits
While this study will have no direct benefit to you, this research may help us learn more about food preferences of people living in the Northeast United States (inclusive of Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine).  Your participation will provide critical information for local fisherman, business, and policy makers to build awareness amongst the consuming public of restaurants and other high end markets that are sourcing local seafood.
 
Confidentiality
The survey is anonymous. Do not add your name anywhere on the survey. Electronic data will be kept on a secure sever at GMRI until December 2018 when it will be destroyed.
 
Voluntary
Participation is voluntary. If you choose to take part in this study, you may stop at any time. Return of the survey implies consent to participate.
