MUSD Parent Input Survey-Feb. 2017

1. The Maricopa Unified School District values the input of parents as it prepares to develop its Local Control Accountability Plan and Budget for the 2017-18 school year. Please put check mark in the appropriate column to indicate that you Agree, Disagree, or Don’t Know with each of the statements below. An additional written comment for each is highly encouraged. Please be specific with details for Comments/Concern so they can be addressed. OPTIONAL information below (Some students may be rewarded for returned surveys by teacher)
2. The district provides textbooks and learning materials to support learning while at school.
3. The schools are safe, clean and in good condition (bathrooms, drinking fountains…)
4. The district’s main goal and mission is to prepare students for a successful life, college and/or career.
5. The teacher(s) makes time to discuss grades, academic successes, or areas for improvement with my child and with me as needed.
6. My child looks forward to coming to school most days. The school contacts me if my child is often late or absent from school.
7. The parents are provided resources and training needed to strengthen student learning at home. (Please comment on the type of trainings you would attend if provided)
8. The teacher(s) help to make the learning understandable to students by using different ways of presenting the information. (Videos, hands-on activities, games…)
9. The district values parents as important partners in their child’s education. Parents have opportunities to take part in decisions made within the school/district.
10. The district is implementing new Common Core State Standards and textbooks in each core subject(s).
11. The district helps English learners learn English as quickly as possible.
12. The school(s)/teacher(s) actively seek parent input into decisions related to their child’s education.
13. The district provides a high quality educational program for all students (English learners, Special Education, Gifted…) in all subjects/courses.
