Poem Selection:

The following fields request the titles and authors of the three poems the student plans to recite. Note: The poem order entered here is the order in which the student intends to recite the poems. This order cannot be changed once submitted, or the student will be disqualified from competition.

Of the three poems chosen, one poem must be less than or equal to 25 lines, and one poem must be written prior to the 20th century. These two criteria may be met by a single poem, i.e., you may choose a pre-20th century poem of 25 lines or less and satisfy the requirement.  The National Poetry Out Loud website allows you to search by the above criteria. Check with the site to see if your poem qualifies. Some authors' lives spanned the 19th and 20th century, not all poems by a single author may qualify.  *This question is required.
