Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) Stakeholder Survey 2016-2017

Beaumont, CA – In June of 2013, the Legislature approved the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF), the most sweeping education funding reform in decades. The LCFF represents a historic shift in how California funds public schools. With a focus on local decision-making, equity, accountability and transparency, it lays the foundation for local education agencies to improve student outcomes and increase engagement in schools.

The LCAP is a critical part of the new LCFF which details specific District plans. The Beaumont Unified School District (BUSD) has engaged parents, staff, and the community to establish these plans. The plans describe the District’s overall vision for students, annual goals and specific actions the District will take to achieve the vision and goals. The plans also demonstrate how the District’s budget will help achieve the goals, and assess each year how well the strategies in the plan were able to improve outcomes.

There are focus areas for which the District, with parent and community input, will establish goals and actions for the plans. The areas of focus are Conditions for Student Learning, Pupil Outcomes and Engagement. Within each of these focus areas, the State has created Eight Priorities. On the BUSD Website, community stakeholders can access the 2016-19 LCAP and the District Strategic Plan which provides specific information on the goals, actions and services the District is committed to implementing. The LCAP is a continuous improvement plan aimed at meeting student and community needs. Several input meetings are listed on the LCFF tab on the BUSD Website. If you are unable to attend one of the LCAP Community Meetings, you can still give us your input by completing the online survey at the link below. The survey results will guide our Local Control and Accountability Plan for the 2017-2018 school year and inform decision making in the annual update of the LCAP.

The District would like to thank the Beaumont USD community of stakeholders for taking the time to provide input by completing the survey and being critical partners engaged in providing an outstanding 21st century education for all students.
