12th Year Campaign Registration Form - 2018-2019

2018-2019 12th Year Campaign Registration Form

About
The goal of the 12th Year Campaign is to have all high school seniors complete at least one college admissions and financial aid application. This campaign includes the American College Application Campaign, College Goal Washington, and Senior/College Signing Day. The Washington Student Achievement Council (WSAC) is leading this statewide campaign, and we invite all Washington high schools to participate.

Both the American College Application Campaign and College Goal Washington will now take place in October and November. The revised time frame reflects the deadline changes to the FAFSA and WASFA and provides more options for school participation. We recommend that after official campaign events, participating sites continue to help students focus on scholarship searches and assist them with financial aid applications and follow-up as needed.

12th Year Campaign Models
While not required, we strongly encourage participating in both College Application and FAFSA/WASFA Completion Events. For more information, please contact Christina Winstead, Program Associate for Outreach, at 360-753-7856 or christinaw@wsac.wa.gov

  3. Participate in your own college application and FASFA/WASFA activities but want to utilize 12th Year Campaign materials and resources online.
College Application Event
The American College Application Campaign (ACAC) seeks to increase the number of first generation and low-income students pursuing a postsecondary degree or credential. The campaign works to achieve this goal by providing support to students throughout their college application process.

Participating sites agree to:
  1. Designate a site lead to coordinate the program at your site, including:
    1. Serve as the main contact person with WSAC staff.
    2. Set the event-day agenda.
    3. Recruit a team with the skills and knowledge to support the event.
  2. Participate in site lead training, to take place via webinar in your choice of June or September 2018.
  3. Provide dedicated time, space, and help for students completing college applications. This could take place at a “College Application Event,” or through other means, such as in-class lessons. Sites will be asked to report the aggregate data to the Washington Student Achievement Council via a site lead survey.

FAFSA/WASFA Completion Event
College Goal Washington is a free, on-site program that helps students and families complete their financial aid applications, including the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA). Attendees receive assistance on completing an initial application and guidance on next steps in the financial aid process.  While we encourage events to take place during October and November, we are committed to supporting events all year.  Please research and partner with current regional efforts and appropriate events as possible in order to reduce duplicate events.
