Kitchen Staff Application ~ Evening Team

Dear Applicant,
Thank you so much for your interest! We really appreciate your taking the time to prayerfully consider if this is God's call for you.

St. Christopher Camp and Conference Center is looking for a Kitchen Team Crew Member to join our experienced team of food service professionals. We are looking for help on our Evening Team. Our full time, year round food service ministry welcomes those with all levels of kitchen experience.

In addition to sharing fully in food preparation, this position includes the preparation of the dining rooms; washing dishes, pots & pans; preparing beverages and salad bar; stocking shelves and whatever else is needed to provide quality service to our guests. Applicant needs to have a strong back, healthy feet and upper body strength. Equally important is a demonstrated heart for teamwork.

This is a full-time hourly position. Hours for this team are approximately 12:30pm - 8:30pm, five days per week, including weekends, for a total of 40 hours per week. Schedules are made about a week in advance and are based on the needs of our guests. We are open year round (except for about 2 weeks at Christmas), seven days a week. Weekend shifts are part of the schedule. Paydays are every two weeks. Pay rate begins at $10/hr.

Here is an overview of St. Christopher's Camp and Conference Center, which is a department of the Diocese of South Carolina. Our mission is to provide rest, restoration and renewal to our guests. For children, we offer summer camps and educational overnight field trips. For churches and businesses we offer lodge rooms and conference spaces. For individuals and families we offer a place to retreat. We operate as a ministry under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Each employee is a valuable team member and ministry associate.  Each of us is a minister because we are serving Jesus while meeting the needs of our guests and fellow team members alike.

Each week we meet in Chapel to pray, worship and study the Bible together. We believe that this is a crucial part of who we are as an evangelical Christian organization, and it is our hope that you will grow greatly in your relationship with Jesus while you work here. Below is a Doctrinal Covenant which spells out the belief system by which we operate. If the statements in this Covenant match your beliefs, then please proceed by filling out the application which follows. If you are not in agreement with the statements, we encourage you to look elsewhere for employment.

You will need to provide your own transportation to work. St. Christopher's is located on the far tip of Seabrook Island. We recommend you consult a map to verify how long your commute will be.

We want to reiterate that the work required is rigorous. Most of your day will be physically very demanding. We are only seeking applicants who are energetic and in excellent physical shape.

Thanks again for your interest,
Ned Collins, Chief of Operations

St. Christopher’s Doctrinal Covenant

God  God is the all-knowing, all-powerful, perfect deity who created the universe and still rules it today. There is only one true God, who exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ We believe in Jesus as the only begotten Son of God, who is one with God and equal to God in every way. Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. Jesus was fully God and fully man and lived a sinless life on earth. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins, rose from the dead, appeared to more than 500 people, and ascended into heaven, where He is our Advocate at the right hand of the Father. No one can be saved except through Him.

The Holy Spirit  The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to bring glory to Jesus Christ, to convict people of sin, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer to serve and glorify God.

The Bible  We believe the Bible is God’s personal and direct message to humankind, revealed to the prophets through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The Bible is completely accurate in all it teaches about life, faith and salvation. The original writings of the Old and New Testaments are without error.

Humanity  We believe that God created people in His image, but they fell into sin with they disobeyed God. Consequently, the entire human race inherited a sin nature. Humankind is separated from God and destined to hell. Only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can we be saved to eternal life in heaven with God.

Salvation  We believe that the only way to be saved from eternal death to eternal life is by believing in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as the only way to be right with God. There’s nothing we can do to earn our salvation. It is by the grace of God through Jesus Christ alone.

The Church  The church is comprised of all believers who have confessed their sins and accepted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. All believers are baptized into the church—also known as the body of Christ—by the Holy Spirit. Jesus is the Lord and Head of the church.

The Future  We believe in the personal return of Jesus Christ to earth, where he will defeat sin, Satan and death for good. We believe in a literal heaven, where all believers will live eternally with God and worship Jesus, the Lamb of God.

I am in agreement with the above statement, and will uphold the beliefs laid out within it.
