Faculty Attitudes Survey


Letter of Introduction

Dear Participant,

            The following Online Survey, entitled "Faculty Attitudes Survey", is part of a study I am currently conducting as a graduate student in clinical psychology at the Wright Institute, Berkeley, California. The survey is regarding university faculty attitudes towards graduate students with learning disabilities and their willingness to provide accommodations for those students. Your participation would assist in the completion of the study. If you chose to participate, your participation will involve completing the following questionnaires that ask you to 1) respond to a series of questions regarding your attitudes towards students with learning disabilities and 2) respond to a series of questions regarding social desirability. Completion of all materials should take no more than 10-15 minutes of your time. Your identity will remain Anonymous (you will be assigned a number) and at no point will you be asked for your name or other identifying information. In considering participation please be aware of the following:
  1. Participation involves minimal risk to you beyond the possibility of some mild anxiety in considering responses to the topic, questions and/or materials
  2. Participation results in no direct benefits to you beyond what might be gained by the experience of participating in a research study, and contributing to better understanding of the topic.
  3. Confidentiality will be protected to the full extent of the law. No identifying information is required to participate in the study. The material is given an anonymous code for organizational purposes. No one including the researcher will be able to identify the materials who participated or refused to participate in the responses of any individual.

  5. Your participation is completely voluntary. Refusal to participate involves no penalty or loss of benefits and you may discontinue participation at any time without penalty or loss of benefits to which you are otherwise entitled.
