Your invitation to participate!
Wine Tasmania is delighted to invite representatives of the Australian wine trade to visit Tasmania in July 2017. This is your chance to taste your way around the island, spending two days meeting wine producers and tasting their wines, as well as a food, cider and whisky producer or two, whilst soaking up the breathtaking scenery of the island. Close to half of Tasmania's modest wine production is only available on-island, so visiting is really the best way to find out more about the unique place that is Tasmania and the wines it produces.

Whilst we would love to have you ALL visit (we really would), we are only able to host ten people as part of this annual program. For this reason, we have this simple application form we ask you to complete (below) and a selection panel which reviews applications.

Wine Tasmania and Sommeliers Australia are delighted to announce a partnership on the 2017 visitation program, whereby two places in the group of ten participants will be reserved exclusively for Sommeliers Australia members (current 'Sommelier' members).

The 2017 visitation program is open to people currently employed in the wine trade, including but not limited to sommeliers, restaurateurs, food and beverage, retail and wholesale representatives. Applicants must be in a position of authority for wine purchasing decisions and available to travel to Tasmania on Sunday 23 July and Monday 24 July 2017.

Please complete and return the form below by 5pm on Monday 12 June. The selection panel will review applications and confirmed participants will be announced by Monday 26 June. The visit will take place on Sunday 23 and Monday 24 July 2017.

This program is presented by Wine Tasmania, with support from the Tasmanian Government Department of State Growth.

The fine print: Applicants must be available to travel to Tasmania on Sunday 23 and Monday 24 July 2017. The program covers return economy airfares from the applicant's closest capital city, one night accommodation, transport within Tasmania, meals on both days and activities that form part of the official itinerary. Participants will be responsible for any other costs incurred. Participants will be asked to provide a brief report (250 words) following the visit, which will be published and shared with the wine community. Participants will also be invited to attend and get involved in the VIN Diemen 2017 events (Saturday 12 August - Sydney and Sunday 13 August - Melbourne) as relevant.
