Medication Assisted Treatment Training

Training Description 

In addition to providing an updated version of the NIDA and SAMHSA"s Blending Initiative product, originally entitled " Buprenorphine Treatment: A Training for Multidisciplinary Professionals, this 12 - hour training will address the use of medication in the treatment of other substances of abuse.   The primary goals of this training package is to create awareness among addiction professionals about the medications currently approved by the FDA and/or used in the treatment of substance use disorder. The course includes information about the rationale for Medication Assisted Treatment, what to expect when someone is treated with medication, information about the legislation that permits office based Buprenorphine treatment, the science of addiction, the mechanism of each medication, patient selection criteria, counseling, and therapeutic issues. PLEASE NOTE: this is not intended to cover all aspects of the medications as is typically addressed in a psychopharmacology training, but to address the clinical aspects relevant to counselors and therapists.  

There is no fee for this training, lunch will be on your own.
