Investigating the difference between multiple and single event trauma in relation to emotional regulation in adults.

Brief

My name is Francesca and I am conducting this research for my MSc Applied Clinical Psychology thesis, under the supervision of Dr Nicola Graham-Kevan. I would greatly appreciate it if you could help me by filling out a questionnaire, which should take less than 20 minutes to complete. All participation is voluntary but you must be over the age of 18 and speak English.

This study is investigating adverse life events in relation to emotional regulation and aggression. You will be asked to complete a questionnaire consisting of 6 sections. If there are any questions that you do not wish to answer, please feel free to leave them blank. The study will involve answering questions which could potentially cause some distress so please be aware of this before proceeding.

The following questions are for research purposes only and your answers will be completely confidential. Please DO NOT write your name on the questionnaire as all answers will remain anonymous and will not be shown to anyone. No one can be identified from the study or what has been written and no one except the researchers will see the data. You may withdraw from the study at any time up until your completed questionnaire has been submitted.

After completing the questionnaire, you will be provided with contact details for the researchers involved as well as sources of help should you require any.

Following the completion of the study we will keep your anonymous answers to use for future research, including presentations and publications. This may include sharing these answers with others doing similar research but only if we approve their request to access it; it will not be given out without this approval.  You will not be identified from this and your answers will remain anonymous.

Please answer the questions as honestly as possible.  If you are happy to complete the questionnaire, please continue.
