Title: Celebrating a Career of Innovation: A Retirement Farewell Conversation with David Rose
Date: Monday, July 24, 2017
Time: 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. EST

Imagine that every individual in the world has the opportunity to access, build skills, and to become an expert learner. This is the vision David Rose shared 33 years ago when he and co-founder Anne Meyer started CAST, the Center for Applied Special Technology, with a small team from North Shore Children’s Hospital. They envisioned radical changes for education, driven by the latest developments in technology, brain science, and design. They developed the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework and innovative tools and resources that impacted every learning environment imaginable - from classrooms, lecture halls, online programs, curricular materials, instructional goals, afterschool programs, museums, and more. They informed policy, with the National Instructional Materials Accessibility Standard (NIMAS), the National Education Technology Act, the Higher Education Act, and the Every Student Succeeds Act. Join us to thank David Rose for his leadership before he retires at the end of this month. We will reminisce about his career, learn some behind-the-scenes stories about CAST and UDL, and hear some of his ideas and hopes for the future.

Please bring any questions or comments you want to share with David to the webinar or email in advance to Allison Posey.
