Board of Directors Nomination

Dear Global Ties Network,

Global Ties U.S. relies on our Board of Directors to drive strategy, assess effectiveness, and ensure adequate financial resources. If you would like to nominate a candidate for our Board, please fill out the form below. You will need to supply a one-page letter of recommendation for your candidate, in addition to the following materials gathered from your candidate: a curriculum vitae (including volunteer & board experience), a one-page statement of intention outlining why the applicant wishes to provide leadership for Global Ties U.S., and two references. All materials must be submitted at the time of nomination. 

We seek individuals with demonstrated expertise in the following priority areas: 

  • Leadership of a Community-Based Member organization and/or National Program Agency
  • Human resource management and employee engagement
  • U.S. government experience in public diplomacy and foreign policy
  • New program, partnership, and resource development
  • Congressional relations
  • Use of data analytics to drive strategy
  • Experience working with business networks

Summary of Qualifications:

  • Commitment to and understanding of the Global Ties U.S. mission and organization
  • Proven understanding of at least one of the following areas: public diplomacy, international exchange programs, internationally focused nonprofit organizations, foreign affairs, and/or nonprofit development/management, and expertise in one or more of the priority areas identified above
  • Three or more years leadership experience, with strong understanding of the responsibilities of serving on a nonprofit board
  • Demonstrated leadership success at a business, government, philanthropy, or nonprofit
  • Strong strategic planning and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to fundraising for the organization, including willingness to make an annual financial contribution to Global Ties U.S. 
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and passion
  • Diplomatic skills and a natural affinity for cultivating relationships and building consensus among diverse individuals
