David K. is a 68 year-old man who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease 5 years ago. He had initially been well controlled on carbidopa/ levodopa, but now for about four months (despite increasing dose and frequency) his tremor and rigidity fluctuate widely and bother him every day. Shortly after he takes each dose of carbidopa/levodopa he suffers from involuntary right arm and leg writhing movements.
