Brooklyn-based artist Marco Benevento is a melodically-inventive musical adventurer who deftly employs effect pedals, vintage amplifiers, and circuit-bent toys around his acoustic piano set-up. Benevento has forged a fascinating repertoire of songs, including intriguing original compositions and instrumental covers of artists as diverse as Amy Winehouse, Beck, Led Zeppelin, Leonard Cohen, and My Morning Jacket. His latest album Between The Needles & Nightfall is a gorgeously textured effort that’s steeped in explosive piano rock and edgy art-jazz.
