Working Conditions in the Banking Industry

In the summer of 2016, we spoke with more than 75 banking industry workers about sales practices at their banks and how these practices could simultaneously harm customers and put unsustainable pressure on workers. And lawmakers listened. As a result of workers sharing their experiences and their concerns for customers, banks were fined, unscrupulous executives were removed, new internal policies were enacted, and elected leaders saw front-line workers as key allies in fighting against bad policies.

We are interested in looking again at these issues 18 months later, to see what kind of lasting changes have taken place as a result of worker input and to identify where improvements still need to be made. We believe that the real experts are the people who do this work day in and day out, and we want to hear what you have to say.

This survey consists of two dozen questions, and we estimate it should take about 12 minutes to complete. We guarantee anonymity upon your request, although we encourage you to share your stories with lawmakers and regulators who need your insights to improve the banking industry for everyone.
