DESCRIPTION

Each year, the Coalition for Juvenile Justice (CJJ) hosts a national conference uniquely focused on improving juvenile justice and delinquency prevention systems, services, practices, and policies. More than 350 juvenile justice practitioners, policymakers, and advocates from across the U.S. and its territories are expected to attend. For more information about CJJ, please visit www.juvjustice.org.

CJJ’s 2018  Annual Conference will focus on the latest research, developments, and challenges facing our field today. Specifically:

  • How can states and communities serve as leaders in shaping a better juvenile justice system for our most vulnerable youth?

  • How can we improve collaborations with young people with lived experiences in the systems we work with?

  • What can be done to leverage partnerships to help improve physical and mental health services, and better address youths' needs for education and housing?

  • What role does advocacy play as communities seek to improve services and provide for trauma-informed care for children and youth?
Table Talks
CJJ will be adding Table Talks as part of the agenda for 2018. These informal conversations will present participants with information about key issues in juvenile justice and provide them with a space to network and share key challenges and successes from their states. Those interested in facilitating a Table Talk should click here. Topics are due Jan. 12, 2018.

A maximum of 16 table talk sessions will be accepted. Facilitators will have 10 minutes to share information about their proposed topic. Three minutes of networking and conversation will follow. Participants will then rotate to a new group, where the process will begin anew. A total of four rounds of Table Talks will take place.
