TAASA's Diversity Task Force 2014 Scholarship Application

Welcome/Introduction

TAASA's Diversity Task Force works to expand initiatives that support marginalized victims of sexual assault. The task force is excited to announce scholarship opportunities in the form of financial assistance to attend the 2014 TAASA Annual Conference in Irving, TX. Our intention is to honor the spirit of grassroots advocacy and highlight the efforts of those working with/for underserved populations. In line with our mission, this scholarship is open to anyone who demonstrates dedication to and promotes social justice within hard to reach populations in Texas.
This year the financial assistance budget is extremely limited.  The Diversity Task Force hopes to partner with your agency in providing financial assistance for your attendance.  Scholarship recipients this year will receive the following:
1. Conference Fee paid
2. $250 travel stipend (sent in advance of the conference)

Mission:
The TAASA Diversity Task Force facilitates access to reliable and accurate resources regarding diversity issues. We inform, empower and support service providers in their goals to offer culturally appropriate and sensitive services to survivors of sexual assault from diverse communities.

Elgibility Requirements:
Employed at a Texas agency
Excellent work in / with underserved populations
Direct service/ front line staff
Work with intervention and outreach regarding sexual violence and/or social justice within underserved populations

Individuals who are willing to make a one year commitment to be involved in the Diversity Task Force. Involvement includes, but is not limited to online and telephone communications.
