Town of South Bristol - 2018 Transfer Station Survey

Dear Town of South Bristol Resident,

Our Transfer Station needs a makeover and we have Ontario County funds available to assist us with this effort. We are looking at expanding and better controlling what can be discarded and recycled to reduce what needs to be landfilled and prepare for the day the Ontario County landfill closes. To help us move in the best direction we would like your input. Please complete the survey by March 31, 2018. Thank you so much for your time and your assistance.
1. Were you aware that the Ontario County landfill is set to close in 2028?
2. Did you know that the Ontario County Solid Waste Management Plan calls for significantly reducing waste in the county by at least 60% within the next 10 years?

6. Food waste makes up a large percentage of what is land filled, and it produces gasses that are harmful to the environment and smells bad. Food waste can be composted to remove it from the waste stream and create useful products. The Town of South Bristol is considering collecting food waste at the Transfer Station or helping residents compost it in their backyard. Please select any of the following initiatives that you would be interested in the Town of South Bristol pursuing.
