Brown and Caldwell Scholarship Application - 2018

Thank you for your interest in Brown and Caldwell's Scholarship Program! Please be sure to review all the eligibility guidelines for the specific scholarship(s) you are applying for, and then prepare the required documents you will need to submit before continuing with the application process. 

Required Documents
All candidates must submit with a completed application:
  • A resume.
  • An essay of 250 words minimum, "Tell us about a personal experience that influenced your decision to focus on environmental studies."
  • Two written recommendations, with at least one from a university official (advisor, professor, etc).
  • An official transcript of your academic record.

Dr. Wesley Eckenfelder, Jr. Scholarship
Dr. Wesley Eckenfelder, Jr.'s career as an environmental trailblazer spanned more than 50 years, during which time he has trained thousands of graduate students and professionals in the science and art of industrial wastewater treatment. To honor his dedication to the environmental industry, we offer a $5,000 Dr. Wesley Eckenfelder, Jr. Scholarship to support students who are interested in pursuing a career in the environmental profession.

Dr. Wesley Eckenfelder, Jr. Scholarship funds may only be used for university/college billed expenses such as tuition.

Criteria
Candidates for the Dr. W. Wesley Eckenfelder, Jr. Scholarship Program must be:
  • A United States citizen or permanent resident.
  • A full-time student enrolled in his/her Junior, Senior year or graduate program at an accredited college/university.
  • Declared major in civil, chemical, mechanical, electrical, or environmental engineering or one of the environmental sciences (e.g. geology, hydrogeology, ecology).
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent on a 5.0 scale).
Minority Scholarship
At Brown and Caldwell, we value diversity in the workplace, supporting organizations like the National Society of Black Engineers and the Society for Hispanic Professional Engineers. We also offer a $5,000 Minority Scholarship to support students who identify as minorities and are interested in pursuing a career in the environmental profession.

Minority Scholarship funds may only be used for university/college billed expenses such as tuition.

Criteria
Candidates for the Brown and Caldwell Minority Scholarship Program must be:
  • A United States citizen or permanent resident.
  • A full-time student enrolled in his/her Junior, Senior year or graduate program at an accredited college/university.
  • Declared major in civil, chemical, mechanical, electrical, or environmental engineering or one of the environmental sciences (e.g. geology, hydrogeology, ecology).
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent on a 5.0 scale).
  • Identify as a member of a minority group (e.g. African American, Hispanic, Asian or Pacific American or Alaska Native).
GLBTQ Scholarship
At Brown and Caldwell, we value equality in the workplace. We offer a $5,000 LGBTQ Scholarship to support students who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender or queer, who are interested in pursuing a career in the environmental profession.

GLBTQ Scholarship funds may only be used for university/college billed expenses such as tuition.

Criteria
Candidates for the Brown and Caldwell Scholarship Program must be:
  • A United States citizen or permanent resident.
  • A full-time student enrolled in his/her Junior, Senior year or graduate program at an accredited college/university.
  • Declared major in civil, chemical, mechanical, electrical, or environmental engineering or one of the environmental sciences (e.g. geology, hydrogeology, ecology).
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent on a 5.0 scale).
  • Identify as a member of the GLBTQ community.
Women in Leadership Scholarship
At Brown and Caldwell, we value equality in the workplace, supporting the great work of organizations like the Society of Women Engineers. We also offer a $5,000 Women in Leadership Scholarship to support female students that are interested in pursuing a career in the environmental profession.

Women in Leadership Scholarship funds may only be used for university/college billed expenses such as tuition.

Criteria
Candidates for the Brown and Caldwell Scholarship Program must be:
  • A United States citizen or permanent resident.
  • A full-time student enrolled in his/her Junior, Senior year or graduate program at an accredited college/university.
  • Declared major in civil, chemical, mechanical, electrical, or environmental engineering or one of the environmental sciences (e.g. geology, hydrogeology, ecology).
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent on a 5.0 scale).
  • Identify as a woman who demonstrates leadership within the community.
