GLASS CEILINGS & THE MEDIA 2018 WOMEN IN SOUTH AFRICAN MEDIA HOUSES

This study is a follow up to the Glass Ceiling research by the South African National Editors Forum (SANEF) and Gender Links (GL) in 2006. It is supported by the Media and Development and Diversity Agency (MDDA). It also builds on research by Glenda Daniels, Chairperson of the SANEF diversity committee, on sexism in South African newsrooms, covering only news operations (as opposed to media houses), based on a smaller sample, and shorter questionnaire. This preliminary research raises vital pointers to be further explored in the more in-depth research. The study targets South African media including broadcast, print and online media that are public, private and community owned. It includes newsrooms, marketing, advertising, distribution and corporate services (human resources and finance).
Please ensure that you upload whatever documentation the media house has including. You will be prompted to do so at appropriate points.
