Major Grant Application

Information & Contact

Thank you for your interest in a grant from the SDHC.
Grants of $1,000 or less are available on a rolling basis throughout the year, as funding allows.
Deadlines for requests of more than $1,000 are Oct. 15 and Feb. 28 annually.

Please Note: Before applying refer to the grant guidelines: www.sdhumanities.org/participate/grants/ for information on the process.  Note:  Applicants are strongly encouraged to save their responses in a Word document, to copy and paste into the online form, prior to submission. Progress in online application can be saved by using the link located in the upper right-hand corner. However, applicants MUST complete pages in full or information will not be saved. Applicants must click next on a page for the information completed on that page to be saved. For example, if an applicant completed 2 1/2 pages and saved and closed out of the survey, only the information completed on the first two pages would be saved.

Furthermore, applicants are strongly encouraged to contact the South Dakota Humanities Council for assistance in preparing grant applications. Applicants who wish to have a draft of their proposal reviewed by SDHC staff prior to final submission may do so if it is received at least two weeks in advance of the deadline.
