2019 Arnold Edinborough Award

Named after the founding President of the Council for Business / Arts in Canada (now Business for the Arts), we invite you to nominate a young business professional age 40 and under who has demonstrated exemplary leadership and volunteerism in the arts. 

The winner of the Arnold Edinborough Award will receive the award at the 2019 Business / Arts Awards Gala in Toronto, along with a cash prize of $5,000 to be directed to the arts organization(s) (non-foundation) of their choice.

*Please note, award nominations will be kept on file and considered for three years. If you wish add any supplementary documents to your application in future years, you can do so by contacting, or by resubmitting through this form.

To complete this nomination:

All documents must be submitted electronically (with signatures from all required parties). 

1). The nominating organization must submit a letter of no more than 750 words that explicitly outlines how the candidate has contributed to the arts through volunteerism. 

The letter should address the following three questions, with specific examples to support the statements:
  • How has the nominee demonstrated leadership in the arts? (i.e. inspiring change, recruiting volunteers, assuming key responsibilities).
  • How has the nominee helped to acheive the arts organization's goals?
  • In what other ways has this individual contributed to the arts organization?
2). A one-page bio or CV (can be submitted in English and/or French)

3). Headshot and up to five (5) photos that showcase their impact and involvement in the community (photos should be jpeg/png at least 1500 pixels wide). 


4). Letters of endorsement from third parties. Maximum of 3 letters (<500 words each)

Endorsements may be made by: 
  • executive staff and board members of arts organizations
  • business associates
