St. Christopher’s Doctrinal Covenant

God  God is the all-knowing, all-powerful, perfect deity who created the universe and still rules it today. There is only one true God, who exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ We believe in Jesus as the only begotten Son of God, who is one with God and equal to God in every way. Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. Jesus was fully God and fully man and lived a sinless life on earth. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins, rose from the dead, appeared to more than 500 people, and ascended into heaven, where He is our Advocate at the right hand of the Father. No one can be saved except through Him.

The Holy Spirit  The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to bring glory to Jesus Christ, to convict people of sin, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer to serve and glorify God.

The Bible  We believe the Bible is God’s personal and direct message to humankind, revealed to the prophets through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The Bible is completely accurate in all it teaches about life, faith and salvation. The original writings of the Old and New Testaments are without error.

Humanity  We believe that God created people in His image, but they fell into sin with they disobeyed God. Consequently, the entire human race inherited a sin nature. Humankind is separated from God and destined to hell. Only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can we be saved to eternal life in heaven with God.

Salvation  We believe that the only way to be saved from eternal death to eternal life is by believing in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as the only way to be right with God. There’s nothing we can do to earn our salvation. It is by the grace of God through Jesus Christ alone.

The Church  The church is comprised of all believers who have confessed their sins and accepted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. All believers are baptized into the church—also known as the body of Christ—by the Holy Spirit. Jesus is the Lord and Head of the church.

The Future  We believe in the personal return of Jesus Christ to earth, where he will defeat sin, Satan and death for good. We believe in a literal heaven, where all believers will live eternally with God and worship Jesus, the Lamb of God.

I am in agreement with the above statement, and will uphold the beliefs laid out within it.
