AP Class Exit Survey

1. Describe your knowledge of the AP Literature *EXAM* (its content; its question types; its format, etc.) PRIOR to taking this class. Were you not at all familiar? Very familiar? *This question is required.

2. Describe your knowledge of the AP Literature *EXAM* AFTER taking this class, but BEFORE taking the actual AP Literature exam; do you feel the class prepared you to take the exam? What was most helpful in doing so? Least helpful? *This question is required.

3. Describe your knowledge of the CONTENT covered in typical high school English classes BEFORE taking this class. What were your strengths? Weaknesses? (Consider any and all content covered in English class, such as literary analysis of novels, poetry, writing, vocabulary, etc.) *This question is required.

4. Describe your knowledge of the CONTENT covered in English class AFTER taking this AP English class. What (be as specific as possible) do you feel you've learned? What skills do you feel you've improved? Do you feel well prepared to enter a College-level English Literature and Composition class? What knowledge or skills did we NOT address in class that you wish we would have? *This question is required.

5. Discuss your attitude towards the novels, plays, poetry, and short stories we read in class this year. Which did you enjoy the most (and why) and recommend I keep in the curriculum? Are there any you suggest I do not teach again (and why)?

Also, please provide any suggestions of works you believe I *should* teach in the future, but did not cover in this class. I am particularly interested in any recommendations of authors who are not dead white men, as I'm aware we covered their works over those of women and/or other cultures, and this is something I want to improve upon for the future (we don't have a lot available in our curriculum, unfortunately). *This question is required.

6. If I had taught a book that was not in Parkland's curriculum, would you have been willing to purchase your own copy of the book?
