EDGE activity proposal (activity CANNOT IMPACT on 360 points) - (This form is only to be filled out by staff or employers)

1. Guidelines for the applicant/proposer:
  • The activity needs to have a minimum of 20 hours engagement.
  • There needs to be some type of reflective activity demonstrating how the student benefited from engaging with the proposed activity. This can take a variety of formats e.g. a written or video log, a presentation to peers, blog etc. The word count should be no longer than 800 words.
  • As an EDGE coordinator, ensure that if any final year students engage with your activity, it is finished by March in order to ensure that they have time to apply for the Award in April.
  • Ensure that any students that have signed up to complete your specific activity, it is signed off appropriately when completed, via the Hear/6.1 database.
  • Ensure that the activity is completed within an academic year. If the student cannot complete all of the activity over an academic year, it can spread into 1.5 years or 2 years – though keep in mind this is contingent on you being able to keep accurate student records.
  • The EDGE activity cannot impact on the student’s 360 degree points.
  • The proposal application should be no longer than a one page document.
