Reagan Consulting Leadership Series-Industry Leader Nominations

Recognizing the importance of effective management and leadership to the success of insurance agents and brokers, Reagan Consulting is performing research to identify the top leaders within the insurance agency/brokerage ranks and to look at the characteristics and qualities of those top leaders.  The purpose of the research is to address two key questions:

  1. How can agency leaders improve their performance?
  2. How can firms successfully select their future leaders?

The first installment of the study was focused on the Chief Executive Officers (CEOs).  Copies of this study are available at www.ReaganConsulting.com

The next installments will be focused on the following:

  • Financial Leadership (CFOs)
  • Human Resource Leadership (HR Managers)
  • Information Technology Leadership (IT Leaders)



To initiate these studies, we will identify the individuals that are considered to be the best in each of these positions and will contact them and learn from them where they came from, what they do and what makes them as effective as they are at what they do.  The findings of this research will provide the guidance to help others in these same positions improve their performance and will help firms more effectively select their next leaders in each of these positions.

We will identify the best in the industry through the following means: 

  1. We will seek nominations from industry leaders, including insurance company executives, agency association leadership, agency consultants, executives of wholesale insurance brokers, and leaders of automation vendors.*
  2. We will contact the best-performing insurance agencies and brokerages and invite them to nominate their employees.
  3. Once we have identified the initial group of top performers in each of these areas, we will invite them to nominate others that they know that are superior in their field.
  4. Once we have all of the nominations, we will select the top leaders in each area based on the number of times they have been nominated.

Why would agencies or their staff members in these leadership positions want to participate?

  • We will maintain the confidentiality of the names of the firms and individuals that participate in order to be respectful of those that are not nominated and to give you the assurance that this study will not lead to your key people being solicited for employment elsewhere.
  • The knowledge that your people have that they are recognized as leaders in your organization and in their area of focus will be very meaningful to them.
  • For all that participate, we will provide to them a copy of the study along with a customized report comparing their feedback with the larger group of top leaders.
