Technology Assisted Review and Predictive Coding are hot topics. Some lump the terms together as PC-TAR. At its core, PC-TAR is a mix of process and technology that aims to speed legal review, therefore saving time and money. PC-TAR is the electronic coding and prioritization of sets of electronically stored information (ESI) according to relation to responsiveness, privilege, or other issues (like automatically redacting information like social security numbers). Typically, lawyers specify relevant criteria within a seed set of documents. The coded documents are then used by the system to code documents across the rest of the collection. PC-TAR has generated a lot of interest due to its potential to save money. However, it is still early days and PC-TAR practices are just beginning to emerge. This survey seeks to understand how broadly PC-TAR has been in use and some of the attitudes toward it. As a thank you for your participation, you will be entered into a drawing for a $250 gift card.
