Thank you for taking the time to fill out The American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology's Survey on Young Biochemists and Molecular Biologists. Our goal is to collect data about career development among young scientists and how various career factors, both personal and professional, influence career decisions and trajectories for this critical group. This survey will take no more than 10-15 minutes to complete and will remain open until Sunday, June 3, 2012. The data we collect will build on two broader surveys conducted in 2011 examining the career development of academic biochemists and molecular biologists. It is our hope that this current effort, which is specifically targeted to younger scientists, will allow us to better understand the unique needs of biochemists during the early stages of their careers as well as identify those barriers that encourage young biochemists to leave the academic pipeline soon after their training ends.
