Chapter Directors (CDs) (2-3 highly entrepreneurial student leaders): As the founding leadership of the GC chapter, CDs will take the lead on developing strategies, conducting research, forming institutional and academic partnerships, and publicizing Generation Citizen to fellow students this spring semester in order to lay the groundwork for a Fall '13 chapter launch. In the fall, CDs will continue recruiting talented and passionate students to serve as the campus' very first Democracy Coaches, and will set up support systems for Democracy Coaches to ensure consistent program quality and a positive volunteer experience. CDs do NOT have to be actively serving as a Democracy Coaches during their entire CD careers, although it is required that they serve in classrooms their first semester.
Expectations for CDs:
1) Attend half-day Leadership Development Retreat in late April or early May
2) Participate in CD Training the weekend of September 21, 2013
3) Attend, and help facilitate, Democracy Coach training (September 21, 2013, February 2014)
4) Participate in weekly CED-staff check-in calls and monthly CED conference calls beginning April 2013 and continuing every week throughout the year while college is in session
5) Participate in monthly in-person meetings with GC Program Managers
6) Respond consistently and within 48 hours to emails from GC staff and participants
7) Participate in quarterly feedback conversations with GC Program Managers wherein both CDs and PMs give each other feedback on performance
8) Fulfill Democracy Coach responsibilities, if coaching
Total Time Commitment for CDs:
3-5 hours/week April 2013-May 2013
5-10 hours/week September 2013-May 2014 (more if also coaching)
