The National Latino AIDS Action Network (NLAAN) was developed in response to the HIV/AIDS crisis in our Latino/Hispanic communities. NLAAN is a coalition of community-based and national organizations, state and local health departments, researchers and concerned individuals dedicated to addressing issues related to the HIV/AIDS prevention, research, policy, and care and treatment needs of Latino/Hispanic communities across the United States and Puerto Rico.
NLAAN Workgroups are open to all NLAAN Members. NLAAN Workgroups provide timely and thorough recommendations on assigned issue areas. There are the following workgroups:
Care and Treatment Workgroup
The NLAAN Care and Treatment Workgroup (CTW) aims to promote and sustain the establishment of seamless systems of HIV/AIDS care and treatment that are inclusive of and responsive to the diverse needs of Latino communities.
Prevention and Surveillance Workgroup
The NLAAN Prevention and Surveillance Workgroup (PSW) seeks to identify timely and adequate strategies to strengthen the capacity at the Federal, state and local levels to respond to the HIV/AIDS epidemics in our communities.
Research and Data Workgroup
The purpose of the NLAAN Research and Data Workgroup (RDW) is to inform, review and create opportunities to promote research and epidemiological efforts that are culturally and contextually congruent to the needs of diverse Latino communities.
