Connecting your students with history has never been easier! For a limited time, the Minnesota Historical Society is offering transportation funds for field trips to its museums and historic sites. Made Possible by the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund through the vote of Minnesotans on November 4, 2008.

• Eligible schools will be reimbursed at the rate of $3 per student in attendance on the date of the scheduled field trip. The number of students will be collected by the site and reported to the grant administrator, who will process the reimbursement check to the school.
• Payments will be sent to schools within 40 days of the field trip's completion.
• Funds are limited and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until depleted or June 30 2013, whichever occurs first.
• Schools may apply to use Legacy Field Trip Support Funds more than once, but field trips may not occur on the same day.
• Schools may not use Legacy Field Trip Transportation Funds in combination with other transportation funds available through the Minnesota Historical Society on the same field trip date.
• Schools will receive confirmation of their application's status no later than five working days from the date the application is received. If you do not receive confirmation within 5 days, please contact scholarships@mnhs.org to confirm the correct phone number and email were listed on your application.

To qualify, schools must:

• Be located in Minnesota
• Submit an application no later than TWO WEEKS PRIOR to date of field trip.
• Have at least 25% of their students enrolled in the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch Program.
• Agree to use the funds to offset field trip transportation costs only.
• Complete a field trip to one of the Minnesota Historical Society's Museums or Historic Sites between September 1st, 2012 and June 30th, 2013.
• Agree to complete a brief online evaluation after the field trip is completed.
