The SASHTA tenant alliance is looking for people who might be interested in becoming members of an eco community and participating in creating an affordable ‘secure tenure’ dwelling for themselves, which will not be used as a ‘financial asset’ for the speculative market.

SASHTA is looking for people who are seriously interested in reducing their carbon-footprint by living in an environmentally sustainable way.

1. PLANNING PROCESS OPTIONS - How actively do you want to be involved?

Option 1: Being involved in the overall eco-community design process:
This will require attending many regular meetings with the group and professionals who will facilitate the process, and will include actively participating in designing your own neighbourhood, green spaces, landscaping, veggie gardens, recreational areas, communal facilities – (laundries, communal living spaces, community kitchen, community hall, etc), as well as being actively involved in the design and creation of your own housing.

Option 2: Being involved in the design and building of your own personal dwelling:
This will require having input, and/or being fully engaged in, mostly only the creation of your own living space and the spaces immediately surrounding.
