This year, Marybeth and myself will be on a panel on Saturday afternoon that includes our friends, John Fischer of Sticker Giant, and Casey Schorr of SwagLove. We’ll be talking about company social dynamics and will discuss if it really is a good idea to have your company feel like a family and if it helps or hurts growth. If you’re around, be sure to stop in!

We’re also holding a user meet-up on Monday, March 14th. Hi blog followers! We have a couple of things to announce today. The first one being that we’ll be holding a SurveyGizmo user meetup Happy Hour, tomorrow in Seattle. The details are below, and if you’re in Seattle, you should definitely stop on by!

As you can see from the pictures, we had quite the turnout. We had (from my count at least) 22 people! It was a ton of fun and everyone got to talk to each other, comparing notes on how they used SurveyGizmo.

We chatted all about SurveyGizmo 3.0 and how big of an improvement it is on version 2. One version 2 user had a question that I thought everyone might benefit from knowing the answer to, and that was, “How do I start using SurveyGizmo 3.0?” It’s actually pretty simple. All you have to do is log into your version 2 account like normal, but instead of creating a survey in there, click the green “SurveyGizmo 3.0 Now Available! Try it now!” button. It’s under the create survey, poll, quizzes, and forms button.

Clicking that will let you into SurveyGizmo 3.0 and you’ll get to build, launch, and report on surveys about a thousand times quicker than before. You’ll also get to use the new and improved Cross Tab report, Word cloud, improved Look & Feel editor, Logic editor, among all the other new features. If you haven’t had a chance to check it out yet, you should definitely take some time to do it!

Everyone was great (a big shout out to Jeff from District 220 for the Barrington schwag — my alma mater uses SurveyGizmo — how cool is that!) I know I had a fantastic time and I hope you all did too.

It was an overall great networking event and I can’t wait to hold another one (I feel like I say that every time I hold one of these… do I hear User Meet-up World Tour, hosted by moi???) Not to mention the food at Weber Grill was amazing!

So you may remember I live with a Zombie. But my partner in crime wasn’t always an undead horror. Before he spent his days shuffling about looking for brains, he did lots of normal, living, things including going to college. I bet you’ve never met a zombie with an ethnomusicology degree before!

In any case, his alma mater is Lewis and Clark college in Portland and he recently had a class reunion. So we got to take a fun little road trip to visit the school the last weekend in June.

Let me tell you, Portland is a beautiful city. We got to see his favorite Portland band, Floater, and I got to see the Rose Gardens and the Japanese Gardens. They were absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to enjoy the famous rainy Portland weather. It was sunny and beautiful all weekend! I even got a sunburn!

You may think that’s crazy, but when you live in Boulder where it’s sunny and beautiful all the time, you really enjoy a change of weather. Plus, all that rain makes Portland so very very green!

While I was there, I also had the opportunity to take some of our lovely customers out for one of our infamous User Meet up lunches at Slow Bar, which claims it has the best burger in town.

Their slowburger has onion rings on it! Delicious!

We talked about some fun things, such as how we stack up against our competitors, API calls, and new tutorials.

We also talked a lot about SurveyGizmo 3.0 and how it’s coming along, when customers should migrate, and how involved the migration process is.

They also asked some really fantastic questions. My favorite was, “What is your favorite thing about SurveyGizmo 3.0?”

My answer? The logic builder. That thing is a wizard! Have you tried it? It makes writing logic and rules a snap!

It’s amazing!
