editor – This is a write up of one of customer meetups held recently by our designer Jase Smith. We try to do meetups like this whenever one of our team travels. Want a SurveyGizmo meetup in your town?
My family and I went on vacation to San Diego last week. Both my wife and I grew up in San Diego and being back for a short time was nice. We had our fill of authentic taco shops, burgers from In-N-Out, and the unparalleled hand made peanut-butter banana chocolate shakes from Beef N Bun. So good! Before packing up the minivan and strapping my surf board to the roof, we planned to smash a SurveyGizmo Meet Up lunch at Zócalo in Old Town in the middle of a fun-filled week of sunburns, sand, waves, *real* carne asada and Disneyland to meet with eight of our favorite SoCal customers.
The food was great and sitting outside on the patio was perfect. Chatting with them about our app and their needs and ways they are using SurveyGizmo was awesome. One girl uses us for her college entrance application forms; another guy uses our system for follow-up feedback with his customers. One guest, Donna, has worked with our own Bill Johnston on a very complicated survey for the college she works for and could not express her appreciation for Bill’s help and our customer support team enough. Another guy whose job revolves around planning and coordinating events at this cool building downtown (otherwise known as the San Diego Convention Center) was raving about our amazing Customer Support team — particularly, he told a story of when he was out of town and needed to get a survey finished up before a deadline and didn’t have access to his computer and his first thought was, “Oh! I need to call and talk to Marybeth… she can help me!”
Another guest, Mike, is very new to SurveyGizmo (he was still in his trial!) and as a long time Monkey user and fed up with the lack of aesthetics available in those surveys, he was primarily interested in how our survey themes allow complete custom designs so easily. He asked the others why they chose SurveyGizmo over other online survey solutions. The answers varied from: inheriting an account from a previous employee to lots of research and comparison with other survey systems, but everyone was in agreement about the great customer support, and how versatile and powerful our system is, and the value… they were thrilled with how much our system can do for a fraction of the cost of other online survey companies.
We had great conversations and everyone had good questions and suggestions. In fact, one guest (a survey methodology professor from the nearby university) was talking about needing SurveyGizmo to function in an offline mode for his research. I came back with some great interface adjustments to make and some good things for us to think through… who knows what our dev team might cook up?
For those who made it to the meet up: thanks so much again for sharing your ideas and enthusiasm for SurveyGizmo.
