Database Improvements Made

Update: We are now on a new and improved primary database cluster and everything is running smoothly.

In an effort to keep you informed, we’d like you to know our application server went down for 17 minutes and 30 seconds today, starting at approximately 5:30 EST. Within 60 seconds our development team was addressing the issue and resolved it shortly thereafter. We’d like to apologize for the interruption to your service. Things seem to be up and running smoothly again now, however, we are going to take the servers offline for 30 minutes at midnight EDT tonight to install a permanent fix.

The details

  1. No data was lost although new surveys couldn’t be started during the down time.
  2. We are back up and online using our secondary databases. Things should run fine but possibly a little slower.
  3. We have a fix for the issue we will roll out tonight at midnight EST and we’ll be offline for approximately 30 minutes.

Oh and by the way we have better than 99% uptime and we are always working hard and expanding our systems to shoot for maximum availability!
