1. Use a transitional lead-in for new topic: “Now we’d like to ask you a few questions about…”
2. Make sure all proposed questions relate back to the survey objectives
3. Ask respondents to let you know if they don’t want to be contacted again at bottom of email invite
4. Assure respondents that classifications are used for analysis only
5. Start early – developing a survey can be an involved process & several refinements may be needed
