Have you ever asked your survey takers what their gender or age was and wished you could separate, let’s say, the female answers from the male, or everyone who was 25 and under from everyone that was 25 and above?

Did you know that you can do that quickly and easily using the filter option in your SurveyGizmo reports?

Starting at the Pro level, when you create a report, you can filter out the answers so that you are only shown the selection you want.

So going along with the example above, let’s say we had asked in our survey, what gender our respondents were (and remembered to make this question required, so everyone had to fill it out) and we wanted to create a report where we only wanted to see how the females responded.

This is actually very easy to do. First, you’ll want to create a Summary Report just like normal. Then head over to the tab called Filters. See the image below.

Within the Filters tab, you’ll see a heading at the bottom that says, “Report on responses matching these rules” and it will have a drop down of all the questions within your survey below it.

Select the question that you want to filter your results by (in this case, we selected, “Please select your gender”) and then select the answer options you want view (In this case, we selected, “Female”).

Now when head over to the tab called “Report Runs” and run the report, we’ll only be shown answers that were selected by survey takers that choose “Female” as their gender.

This is a great way to dig a little deeper into your data and analyze the way different groups answer your survey. Creating multiple Summary Reports with different filters and exporting them all, can help you compare and make conclusions from all the data you have.
