The Advanced Rule Writing tutorial continues to be a popular tutorial for Professional and Enterprise level customers of SurveyGizmo, as they get more involved in the advanced logic available. This tutorial, as well as the Merge Codes tutorial, have recently been updated with some tools to help you check your rules and merge codes for the proper syntax.
Embedded inside both tutorials are now merge code checkers to make sure the merge code you have is valid. The Advanced Rule Writing tutorial has two additional features:
- A rule checker, that will check a single rule
(no AND, OR, or parenthesis)(AND and OR now supported up to twice in the rule, 3 items compared, parenthesis still not allowed) for proper formatting. This includes checking that the correct operators (equals, greater than, etc.) match up with the use of quotations. - A rule creator, allowing you to enter in the merge codes and reporting values from your survey, answer a few questions, and it will show you the correctly formatted rule! Once again, single rules only, but combining rules is the easy part.
